Daniel Nickrent and evolutionary biologist from SIU USA put me straight, pointing out the green colouration in parts of the infructescences. You can read more about these extraordinary plants at the International Aroid Society website. From this site I would suggest that the species name is Amorphophallus kachinensis.
My suggestion that this was a parasitic plant was an error.
